CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT: Patriotic Mantel with Fun Rag Garland and Paper Star Wreath

Hi everyone! Can you believe that June is almost over and the 4th of July is just around the corner?! Sooo...I decided that it was about time to reveal my patriotic mantel! You have been watching it come together bit by bit, so I wanted you to see the final product! Almost every element of it is a DIY project that I shared with you in the last few weeks.

Of course, the best place to start is at the top with my POTTERY BARN INSPIRED 3-D PAPER STAR WREATH in all of the traditional colors! I love it! Not only was it fun to make, but it was easy and inexpensive!

I also added my INDOOR/OUTDOOR LIGHTED PATRIOTIC GARLAND. I love the country feel and the fact that it can go right outdoors to brighten up our 4th of July cookout, too!

And my most recent project...it's my DIY PATRIOTIC FIRECRACKERS! A trip to the dollar store netted me almost all that I needed for this one. You won't believe what's actually under those firecrackers! ;-)

I just added my barnstable lanterns and some chunky red candles topped by a bow in red, white and blue and it was ready! The little grands are really enjoying the colorful mantel and I like that!

Here's another way to use strips of red, white and blue fabric...my PATRIOTIC RAG BALL FILLER! This one is super-simple and inexpensive plus has a unique rustic feel that I really like!
