Easy Ideas for Last-Minute Christmas Decorations

It's been a very busy few weeks, with lots of time spent with the grands...a very special time of year for us! And with Christmas less than a week away, I need to share my Christmas decorations with you! It's a very simple theme this year...a traditional Christmas with lots of greenery and pops of red ornaments...easy Christmas décor for a busy family! Here are some ideas that might help you, too!

Use last year's wreath in a different spot
The wreath on the front door is the one that I used in my Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel last year. I love being able to move my wreaths around to a new spot for a different look each year!

Place a poinsettia in a pretty tureen
As you enter my home, you are greeted by a favorite tureen filled with a poinsettia and tied with a plaid ribbon...instant Christmas!

Add colorful ornaments to a small tray and accent with greenery...
A collection of red ornaments is gathered in a vintage silver tray and decorated with fresh holly.

...or add them to a favorite bowl for a pop of Christmas color
On the table behind on of the love seats, you will find that I have not changed much...just added ornaments to the bowl that was already there!

Mix items in red and green for an easy Christmas look
I added a collection of vintage spindles, still sporting their red and green thread, to my blue and white pitcher to give it a Christmas-y look.

Add birds, berries and lights to a purchased tree
Beside them is my favorite little tree, with lots of texture and a few cardinals and berries to add some pops of red.

Place a poinsettia in vintage silver and add a bow
On another table you will find my vintage silver champagne bucket holding another poinsettia and tied with a plaid ribbon. The cute Christmas countdown chalkboard was made by my daughter. The little grands love to take turns writing down the number of days left!

Add a few Christmas pillows
Making another appearance this year is my no-sew Ballard inspired Joyeux Noël pillow...still a favorite!

Easy-to-make ornaments add a personal touch
The little farmhouse tabletop Christmas tree has also made a return this year, complete with my easy-to-make faux galvanized stars and fun DIY grain sack ornaments.

Fun DIY candles add whimsy in just a few minutes
Under it, you will find my fun and easy Peeps Christmas candles...made in just a few minutes!

Fruit can be used as a candle holder, too!
And on the other side are my 5 minute pomegranate candle holders which stay fresh since no cutting is involved.

Let your family favorites be the center of attention
It doesn't have to be fancy! At the center of it all is my traditional Christmas mantel, with our whimsical stockings all lined up and waiting for Santa to fill them on Christmas Eve! I have to admit that I am extra excited this year because this is our first Christmas since the grands and their sweet mom have come to live with me.

And Baby Kitty says to stay tuned because we are working on a special tablescape for our Christmas breakfast...can't wait to show you!

Remember to pin it!
