Bringing in Spring...Cherry Blossoms and Vintage Ironstone

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring...Cherry Blossoms and Vintage IronstoneSpring is in full flowering mode here and I am so happy! I am even beginning to think I may be able to put flowers on my patio and skip that last cold snap we usually get! Soooo…to celebrate, I cut a few branches from my flowering cherry and brought them into the house to bring some spring indoors!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring Centerpiece I placed them in one of my favorites…my vintage Red Cliff ironstone tea pot…and used nothing but vintage white and cream pieces so that the blossoms would be the star!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring CenterpieceI love the patterns of the matching sugar, adorned with grape leaves and vines…one of my favorite motifs! And…do you see the lovely sugar spoon? It’s my favorite vintage silverplate flatware pattern… Vintage from Rogers Brothers. It was a cherished gift from my blogger friend Babs at Upstairs Downstairs.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring Centerpiece And…you can see why I love that pattern…more grapes! I love the patina of old silverplate! Can you see the reflection of the flowers…lovely!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring Centerpiece Here’s the matching creamer which continues the grapevine motif.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring Centerpiece I am adding a stack of my favorite vintage saucers and one treasured cup to the mix…Patrician by Wedgwood. How I wish a had a complete set of it!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Bringing in Spring Centerpiece And here’s another look…cherry blossoms mixed with vintage ironstone and Wedgwood! I corralled it all on a dark basketweave tray so make the cream and white pieces and the pretty pink flowers pop!

Kitty Miss Kitty reminds me that this is not the first time that I have paired ironstone with pink flowers!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Ironstone and Tulips4I used many of the same pieces in my early spring centerpiece starring ironstone and tulips. There’s just something about the mix of vintage china and pink flowers!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Touch of SpringAnd here’s another spring centerpiece with my blue and white transferware favorites mixed with yellow daffodils. If you know me, you know that blue and yellow are my favorite color combination! You can get a closer look at it here.
What about you? Are you beginning to add some spring flowers to your home?

Remember to pin it!

  1. Debbie, that is so pretty! I love pink and the white ironstone is a perfect combination. I need to find some flowers for my home and hope Charlie won't try to eat them.

  6. I love all the white. You're right- it allows the flowers to be the star! I think I am going to "copy" your idea for the centerpiece on my kitchen table. Thanks for the inspiration.
