3-in-1 No-Sew Christmas Ornament/ Utensil Pocket/ Gift Card Holder

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 3 in 1 Easy Christmas No-SewI’m so excited because it’s time to join one of my favorite groups…the No-Sew Showcase! And this time the theme is Christmas…just in time for some fun and easy ideas for the holidays! I am sharing a great little idea that can be used as an ornament, as a utensil pocket and as a gift card holder! Yes…each one of the projects pictured can be used three different ways…and you don’t have to be able to sew a stitch! Can you get any more useful or versatile than that? And even better…they are all very inexpensive to make!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 3 in 1 Easy Christmas No-Sew Supplies Here’s what you will need:
  • Red, green and white felt squares
  • Small burlap sacks (Mine came from the wedding section at Hobby Lobby…a package of 10 on sale for $3.50)
  • Ribbon
  • Buttons
  • Small red pom poms
  • Jute twine
  • Fabric glue
  • Hot glue gun

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 3 in 1 Easy Christmas No-Sew Mitten Here’s what you will do to create the mitten:
  1. Cut the felt for the mitten and cuff using the template found here. I had to adjust the size a little since it was larger that I wanted. Be sure to cut two of the mitten itself…a front and back.
  2. Cut the star using the template found here. I used Photoscape to print it to a smaller size.
  3. Run a small bead of fabric glue around the outer edges except the top (the part where the cuff will go) of one of the mitten cut-outs and put the two halves together.
  4. Apply glue to the top of the outer portion of the mitten cut-out and add the cuff.
  5. Apply the star cut-out with fabric glue.
  6. Important…let the mitten dry overnight.
  7. Add the button to the star with a small bead of hot glue.
  8. Knot the ends of a piece of jute twine to create a loop and apply to the back of the mitten with a bead of hot glue. This will serve as the ornament  hanger.
  9. It is now ready to be used as an ornament, utensil pocket or gift card holder as you wish.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 3 in 1 Easy Christmas No-Sew Stocking Here’s what you will do to create the stocking:
  1. Cut the felt for the stocking, cuff and toes using the template found here.  Be sure to cut two of the stocking itself…a front and back.
  2. Cut the heart using a template found here.
  3. Run a small bead of fabric glue around the outer edges except the top (the part where the cuff will go) of one of the stocking cut-outs and put the two halves together.
  4. Apply glue to the top of the outer portion of the stocking cut-out and add the cuff.
  5. Apply glue to the toe and heel and add them to the stocking.
  6. Apply the heart cut-out with fabric glue.
  7. Important…let the stocking dry overnight.
  8. Add the button to the stocking with a small bead of hot glue.
  9. Knot the ends of a piece of jute twine to create a loop and apply to the back of the stocking with a bead of hot glue. This will serve as the ornament  hanger.
  10. It is now ready to be used as an ornament, utensil pocket or gift card holder as you wish.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT 3 in 1 Easy Christmas No-Sew Pocket And here’s what you will do to create the pouch:
  1. Remove any bows or strings from the purchased burlap bag.
  2. Cut the felt for the wreath using the template found here. It was larger than I wanted so I had to make adjustments for the size.
  3. Add the wreath to the pouch using fabric glue.
  4. Add the pompoms and bow to the wreath.
  5. Important…let the pouch dry overnight.
  6. Cut a length of jute twine, tie knots in each end and add it to the pouch as a handle, securing each end to the outer seam with a small bead of hot glue.
  7. It is now ready to be used as an ornament, utensil pocket or gift card holder as you wish.
