The Softer Side of Fall

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT The Softer Side of Fall Once again, I had so much fun looking at all of the inspiring links at The Scoop! I was hoping to see some early fall ideas since I seem to have fall on the mind lately…and I was not disappointed! However, I have noticed that fall is taking on a different look this year…in soft and muted natural tones!

dollar store pumpkins main You know I loved this one since I am so cheap thrifty! Tanya at twelveoeight created the pumpkins and the stands using items she found  at the dollar store! Sweet!

IMG_0152_thumb[2] Lana Austin: Motif shared this gorgeous white pumpkin with bling along with her beautiful vintage Italian linens!

easy grapevine pumpkin Isn’t this the cutest idea… a little pumpkin made of tiny grapevine wreaths! See how it was done at Lilacs and Longhorns!

IMG_3415 Junk Chic Cottage shared her beautiful fall decor in creams and whites…including this pretty pumpkin!

DSCN3802 Gotta love all the texture and natural elements in this pretty fall centerpiece from The Refeathered Roost.

burlap-ribbon-wreath-with-bow Here’s a wonderful idea for an early fall wreath from Through My Front Porch…with just a hint of muted orange.

diy burlap fall banner And here’s more soft orange in this stenciled burlap banner from twelveoeight…just a hint at fall!

Decoupage-Crafts-9-705x470 Barb at The Everyday Home got her best Martha on to create these découpaged books…love those birds!

fall_vignette (4)_thumb The Beautiful Home shared the neutral fall décor in her breakfast room…and her pumpkin pie recipe, too!

fall-table-6 Here’s a lovely neutral fall tablescape from So Much Better with Age. Love those pumpkins!

burlap.pumpkin6Aimee at Refresh Renew shared her tutorial for creating these cute burlap pumpkins! Love that fleur-de-lis burlap!

[036%255B7%255D.jpg]I am also sharing my neutral fall tablescape from 2011…white pumpkins with bittersweet and mercury glass. Was I ahead of my time? lol You can get a closer look here. I have to say, though, that I am usually an “orange in the fall” kind of gal. But I am still working on this year’s fall decor, so time will tell! You will be able to see it all on my fall home tour on September 25th…so stay tuned! You can get all the details here.

IMG_3891And I can’t talk about neutral fall décor without sharing my all-time most popular project…my ruffled burlap table runner! It has been a real work horse for me…the base for all of my fall and winter tablescapes. You can find a detailed tutorial including tips on measuring here.

Don't forget...there’s still time to link up if you haven’t yet and lots more to see as well, so head on over to The Scoop to check out more wonderfully creative links and share yours! I am also featuring some of your links on my new Pinterest board Shared at The Scoop Linky Party and I have shared them on my blog's Facebook page. Be sure to come back Monday evening at 6:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time to join me for The Scoop!

  6. Your should have an etsy shop. I was looking at your Mickey Mouse wreath and I would love to own one. It gave me the idea that you could sell your decorating ideas and do very well.

  12. Thank you so much for the feature! I love all the fall ideas you shared -- there is always so much creativity in blog-land -- I love it!

I, too, am typically and orange kind of fall person, but this year, I'm doing things a little more muted. I'm still putting some orange in there too, because I just need that pop of color. I do love your tablescape...it has just the perfect touch of pop with the berry garland.

Can't wait to see the rest of your fall decor.
    Have a great evening!
