My Fall Dining Room…Bittersweet, Burlap and Pumpkins

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Fall Dining RoomWith Halloween almost here and Thanksgiving just a month away, I want to show you what I have been doing in my dining room. For the time being, it is very simple…bittersweet, burlap and pumpkins.

BK Our co-host Baby Kitty looks wistful but has to admit that this is his favorite time of year. Nothing is more interesting than fall leaves blowing in the wind!

Fall Centerpiece 2The star of my fall centerpiece…fabulous long-stemmed natural pumpkins that I found during our family outing to the pumpkin farm over the weekend! I also scored those wonderful little pumpkins with dried tendrils…cute! The middle pumpkin is elevated on an overturned terracotta flower pot topped by a larger saucer…both painted a cream color…and surrounded by faux bittersweet.

Burlap Table RunnerServing as the anchor of the centerpiece is the ruffled burlap table runner that I made several years ago. I love the texture that it adds and the way it looks with fall and winter decor! For a detailed tutorial click here.

Hutch for Fall In the background you can see my hutch all dressed for fall. I love the contrast of my blue and white transferware with the pops of orange from the pumpkins!

SideboardOn the sideboard is my grandmother’s dough bowl filled with fall color and a faux pumpkin topping my silver champagne bucket….a great thrifting find!

Dough Bowl Here’s a closer look at my dough bowl…filled with pretty faux gourds from Tuesday Morning, dried magnolia pods and miniature Indian corn.

Vintage French Pumpkin PillowAnd on my frenchy chair…my burlap and linen vintage French pumpkin pillow! I love this one because it’s good from September to Thanksgiving…my kind of decorating! You can find a full tutorial including the graphic ready for transfer by clicking here.

Fall Centerpiece 3 Here’s a final look at the centerpiece. This will remain in place until we get a little closer to Thanksgiving. I have another more elegant look in mind for that! What about you? Are you starting to think about Thanksgiving yet?

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my dining room! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

  16. Your dining room looks beautiful!
Your little pumpkins remind me of the first year I taught . I dragged dh, then boyfriend out to the farms to find 30 perfect little pumpkins for my class. They were a nickel! I'd need a home loan to do that today, not to mention 4.20 a gal gas to get there!
My son has 5 little kids, the trip to the pumpkin farm is very costly!
I went for faux! And the squirrels don't eat them, a bonus!
That storm coming up from the south looks bad!

  19. LOVE every bit of it, Debbie! What could be better than pumpkins and burlap? do your kitties want to chew on the burlap like mine? I'm constantly finding teeth marks in mine. We kitty lovers put up with a lot of decor malfunctions just to keep everyone happy! xo
