Christmas on the Porch

I have a very special Christmas porch to share this year! It's not that it's spectacular in design or that I have really outdone myself this year, although I really did try! :-) No...the extra special part of my porch came from a wonderful surprise that came to my house yesterday...

...an early Christmas snow! Here's what I saw when I looked out of my window this morning!

Can you believe it?

It snowed in Georgia...and right before Christmas!

So now I can share my porch with you all decked out in snow!

At the heart of it all is this wonderful galvanized stocking...a fabulous clearance sale find from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I knew you would want to know! ;-) I filled it with frosty greenery and berries and tied it up with a red velvet ribbon.

Surrounding the door is a realistic evergreen garland decorated with red ornaments that make me think of berries.

On one side of the door I have arranged a sap bucket filled with more greenery, icy twigs and berries. Two lanterns are tied with more of the same, one filled with red and silver ornaments and the other holding one of the fun STAR-SHAPED CANDLES that I shared with you earlier.

On the other side is another grouping of lanterns and another sap bucket. It's pretty simple this year. My porch just kept telling me less is more. And that's not easy for a more is more person like me! lol And just in case you are wondering, I keep my blinds open a bit so that little furry faces can look out and see the snow, too!

And here it is! Isn't it just perfect that snow arrived just in time to become the star of my porch?

And stay tuned because my dining room is next!

Remember to pin it!

  11. Hi Debbie! I absolutely love your front porch and how it's not overdone but has just the right touches. That stocking is the most adorable accent! Now, all I need is some snow drifts on my front bushes to complete the effect. (We're not likely to get the real thing here in Houston!) - Crissy @ First Day of Home
