Farmhouse Patio Tour

Hi everyone! Can you believe that July is coming to a close? School will be starting back in a couple of weeks here (Do I hear cheers and/or groans?) and summer is winding down…well, except for the temperatures and the humidity! My patio is in full summer splendor so I thought I would share it with you before August’s heat sets in.



This is my favorite little corner…my little spot for morning coffee when the air is a little cooler. I’ve added a few farmhouse touches this year to make it cozier than ever!  If you know me, you know I love anything galvanized so my barnstable lantern has made its way to the patio along with my olive bucket that now contains one of my go-to summer plants…portulaca. And it’s just not summer to me without my sweet potato vine. It’s taking over the world! Feed me, Seymour! But I have to say that the pillows from Heritage Lace are my favorites!

I love the vintage farmhouse look and the ticking stripe of the BUTTERFIELD FARMS PILLOW! It adds an element of rustic charm to my patio.

Here’s a closer look. The cow design just speaks to me! It’s so comfy and adds just the right cozy touch to my favorite spot!

In the other chair is another pillow from Heritage Lace…the FARMHOUSE LOVE FAMILY PILLOW. The fabric has a faux bois wood grain look that I love and expresses a sentiment that is dear to me…especially since my daughter and the little grands have come to live with me! The pillows are not weather proof so they come in with me. And see the pot of portulaca?

Take a closer look at the bee I spied…all covered with pollen from his morning collecting! Cool, huh?

On the other side of the patio you will find a little spot for outdoor dining…

…and the vintage plant stand that I added this year. Can you tell I love geraniums? Take a closer look at the ones in the stand.

They were hosts to a family of wrens in early summer. I left the nest undisturbed in case they came back for a second brood. It was so much fun for the little grands to watch them come and go through the window! We were lucky enough to witness the babies leave the nest and fly for the first time!

And here’s more galvanized goodness…remember my MINI HERB GARDEN WITH CHALKBOARD PLANT MARKERS?

Here’s how it looks now! I am just about to harvest some of the oregano and basil and I have been adding the mint to my tea all summer…wonderful!

A summer favorite has returned as always…my RUSTIC FLOWER POT MAN! This year his hair is Creeping Jenny.

And I couldn’t have a farmhouse porch without a Mason jar! This one is actually a mercury glass solar lantern. It casts a pretty glow at night!

And finally, every farmhouse needs a handsome gentleman farmer to keep the livestock…er…lizards corralled! Baby Kitty is very happy to take care of that job! He really loves a morning romp...always supervised, of course! How about you? Is summer still in full swing? I hope it has been wonderful!
