Frameable Vintage Seashell Prints

Can you believe that summer is half over now? On the fun side, I have been spending lots of time with my grandchildren and enjoying every minute since school starts back in less than a month. On the not-so-fun side, I’m working hard to revive my yard after last winter’s single digit temperatures. Sooo…as a result, I am still adding a few summery touches to my décor. And here’s my latest project…a pair of frameable vintage seashell prints!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Vintage Chambered Nautilus print I found a website with some wonderful vintage nature prints, such as this Chambered Nautilus, and knew immediately what I wanted to do. I cropped it and added it to a vintage book page…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Vintage Purpura print …as well as this vintage Purpura print, to create a pair. I love them! It’s sometimes hard to fit summery décor into my Country French home and these work perfectly!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Frameable Vintage Seashell PrintsI just printed them at 8 x 10 size using Photoscape, a free photo-editing download, and then framed them in a pair of thrift store frames…once gold but now softened with Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint. They add a perfect hint of summer for me without being too much!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pier 1 Inspired Seashell Wreath And just in case you are looking for a few more projects using shells, here is my Pier 1 inspired seashell wreath…super easy and waaay cheaper than theirs!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Summer Dough Bowl with DIY Japanese Fishing FloatsAnother fun project was my summer dough bowl with DIY Japanese fishing floats. You will find a  link to the tutorial for the floats here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Summer Mason Jar Candles And if you love Mason jars like I do, here’s a way to create summer Mason jar candles…so fun and easy to do!

Kitty Miss Kitty, however, maintains that summer is prime time for taking little cat naps…literally…and begs me please do not disturb!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing my vintage seashell prints! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants.

  6. Hi! I'm visiting via Savvy Southern Style's party, Wow Me Wednesdays. I love your seashell prints on the vintage pages, and since I'm decorating with seashells and mermaids now, I think I might have to try my hand at some, too! Your photographs are always gorgeous...I visit your blog frequently, although I don't always comment...I always enjoy whatever it is you're sharing!
