Touches of Fall Around the House

Hall chest vignette2I can’t believe it’s October already and fall is in full swing! Halloween is just a few weeks away so I thought I’d show you the little seasonal touches that I have added to the house. In the entry…a vignette with a little Halloween twist and lots of fall color! That’s my Pottery Barn inspired Indian corn candle in the background ( tutorial here) and a pumpkin-shaped basket…a $5.00 find at Michaels several years ago. The little Boo! sign is from Target’s dollar section.

Pumpkins with hat In the silver tray…a row of mini-pumpkins, one of which is sporting a tiny witch’s hat…fun!

Entrance vignetteOn the pony wall on the other side of the entrance there is another little Halloween vignette starring a fun sign half price from Jo-Ann and a cute little ghoul from Dollar Tree! I seem to be loving those tiny witch hats this year, so I added yet another hatted mini-pumpkin!

Wisteria Inspired Crows More tiny witch hats…this time on Dollar Tree crows for a Wisteria copy-cat look! You can find a tutorial for making the witchy crows here. Gotta love the tiny pumpkin topiary in the background!

Halloween CenterpieceAnd in the breakfast room…a fun Halloween centerpiece. I love that funny Jack-o-lantern plate and the cute tiny witch hat tree. (Are you seeing a theme here?)

Ghostly guy Here’s another little fellow from Dollar Tree…a silly ghostie

Ghost Salt and Pepper …and some more funny ghost salt and pepper shakers that I’ve had for so long that I can’t remember where they came from! They make their appearance each Halloween.

Hall chest vignette2Can you tell I am excited about Halloween this year? My two youngest grandsons..both toddlers…will be old enough to notice! I have more decorations that are strictly for fall and not Halloween that I am saving to show you later. And this vignette will convert easily…just remove the little sign and the hat and we are good to go! That’s one of my favorite things about fall décor…it lasts from September until Thanksgiving! Woo hoo! That’s my kind of decorations!

  3. Debbie you have such cute decorations and I can't believe that you got some of this stuff at Target Dollar bin...you really know how to make things look more expensive. Some Home or Decorator magazine should keep track of your blog and put in your pictures. You really have done a fantastic job...always. Can ya tell I am jealous of your "magic" touch? LOL

  5. You always make me smile, Debbie, and your house is so festive. I know the grandkis have fun with you. How could they not? And those hatted crows are as cute as can be.

Are the little punkies faux or real? I love them, but I'm always afraid I will have one rot in my house. That happened one year. I still want to try your masking tape idea and might. Justt got to find some here.

    XO,

    Sheila
