Plaid and Evergreen Christmas Mantel

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Plaid and Evergreen Christmas MantelWe've finally had some cold weather this weekend and Christmas is definitely in the air! Sooo...I decided it was time to share this year's mantel! It was all inspired by the wreath...a variety of preserved evergreens finished off with a plaid bow!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Plaid and Evergreen Christmas MantelIt's a simple mantel, with jute twine deer flanking the mirror along with a pair of rustic wooden lanterns. I love how the toy Christmas blocks reflect the colors in the stockings and remind us that there are some very excited little guys in the house this year!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Plaid and Evergreen Christmas MantelThe real stars are the family stockings which were hiding those rascally elves the day I took the photos! Can you guess which one is mine? Did the cat give it away...or was it "Granny?" lol

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Plaid and Evergreen Christmas MantelHere's a closer look at the deer, a Hobby lobby find, which continue the theme with their plaid bows!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Plaid and Evergreen Christmas MantelPlaid bows that match the one on the wreath finish off either end of the mantel. I love how the lights twinkle through the fabric!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Plaid and Evergreen Christmas MantelAnd here’s a look at the mantel the next day, after the elves had flown away to another hiding spot in the house. To me, it has a sort of magical glow that only the excitement of Christmas can add!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Traditional Christmas MantelAnd finally, here’s a look at last year’s TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS MANTEL which also stars the family stockings. One day the littles and their mom will have their own house, but for now, I am enjoying having them here for the holidays, adding all of the excitement that only children can bring!
