Please Join Me for The Scoop #183

Hi everyone! Although summer is still in full swing weather-wise, we are starting off this week at my house with lots of big milestones for the grands...first day of pre-K, kindergarten and high school! Wow! I can't even believe it! And, as a retired teacher, I always remember that it's the first day back for the teachers, too! Soooo...

...I created a little project to mark the beginning of the school year with my NO-SEW 'TEACHERS RULE" BACK-TO-SCHOOL GIFT. It's super easy and fun to make and only takes a few minutes. And you can fill it whatever you like...markers, pencils, flowers, etc. You can check it out HERE.

And now, I want to see what you have to show us, so let's get on with the party!

WELCOME TO THE SCOOP!
The weekly party featuring the scoop on the best from around the web!

We are:
Anita from Cedar Hill Farmhouse
Yvonne from StoneGable
and Suzy from Worthing Court
Your host this week is Suzy from Worthing Court.

Hi everyone!  It's been a busy month around here as Pookie and I continue to tackle the bajillion projects that accompany a whole house remodel.  Here's a little of what I've been up to since the last time that I hosted.

I finally finished the last little item and was able to reveal my fireplace makeover.  It was a hot mess of dated brick, oak trim and a brass fireplace door before.

Don't you love beachy style?  I know I do.  I did all of the research and gave you a list of resources for recreating this beachy family room on budget.

We all could use some extra storage and organization, right?  I started a new series called, "Do It In A Weekend", and shared how easy it would be to add storage to the inside of a closet door.

Now let's take a look at a few features from last week's party!

Debra, from Common Ground, shared her pretty buffet and dining room.

One of the things that I look forward to the most in the fall is apple season.  Jen, from Cincy Shopper, shared her recipe for traditional apple crisp.  Yum.

Robin from, All Things Heart And Home, revealed her stunning new master bathroom.

You won't believe the before of this little table and what Lynn, from Fern Avenue, used to give it a totally new look.  Genius and so creative.

And last, but far from least, Amy from Atta Girl Says, shared all the details of her pretty vintage meets modern living room.

A huge thank you to everyone who linked up or just came for inspiration last week!  Now, let's get on with this week's party.

  4. Suzy,
Your fireplace makeover gives me hope. My fireplace is a whole mess of dated brick shoved into the corner of our living room (an unusual spot). My goal is to have it looking pretty before October and the beginning of the fireplace months!
