No-Sew Halloween Goodie Bags

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Halloween Goodie BagsI’m excited to join our monthly no-sew group for our October share of fun and easy ideas! And for me, October not only says fall, but also Halloween! If you are like me, you have a few extra-special trick-or-treaters who will be coming to your door and you will need an extra-special treat! Soooo…with my little grands in mind, I created these simple no-sew Halloween goodie bags!

KittyMiss Kitty says that they are so easy that you only need a few supplies:
  • Pre-made small burlap bags (mine came from Michaels)
  • Squares of felt in white, orange, green, black and yellow
  • Mod Podge (The kind for fabrics really works best when adhering felt to felt although the matte version will do.)
  • Small brush
  • Aluminum foil
  • Print-outs of the templates that follow
  • Scissors

Supplies And here’s what you will do:
  1. Iron the bags to make them easier to work with
  2. Pin the templates to the felt and cut them out. You can cut the larger ones first and then use them as a guide to cut the smaller pieces as well. For example, cut out the ghost from white felt and then use the same template to cut out the eyes from black felt.
  3. Place a piece of aluminum foil inside the bag to prevent the Mod Podge from sticking it together.
  4. Brush Mod Podge on the backs of the felt pieces and put them in place, allowing them to dry overnight.
  5. Fill with your little trick-or-treater's favorites and you are done. :-)

Here they are...waiting by the front door for my special little ghosts and goblins to arrive!

  2. These are so cute, Debbie. I've never used the fabric Mod Podge, but it sounds like it works really well for this sort of project -- much better than hot glue would.

I think I'm going to have to make up some special treat bags for a few trick-or-treaters, too! I know your grands are going to love them.

  3. Very very cute, I never thought to use Mod Podge simply for glue!
