Mosaic Monday/Outdoor Wednesday...or...A Fairy Ring

mush3It has been years since I have seen one of these…an almost perfect fairy ring! To my neighbors’ delight, this ring of toadstools sprouted in their garden…evidence that fairies were dancing in a magical circle on their lawn last night! Did I happen to witness the moonlight ball? Sadly, no. I was a sleepyhead and missed the festivities!

mush5But I know there was much whirling and twirling with gossamer gowns glistening and filmy wings shimmering in the moonlight!

IMG_7583 Then just before dawn, the fairy promenade meandered merrily two by two toward my dewy lawn…

IMG_7552 …leaving me one tiny parasol as a parting remembrance! Sigh!

IMG_7603I am waiting, dear little fairies! Please hurry back and visit my garden tonight!
Thanks for stopping by! Please join Mosaic Monday with our wonderful hostess Mary at Little Red House to see one of her beautiful mosaics and to find out who else is playing along!
Outdoor_Wednesday_logo_thumb[1] Then head on over to visit our own Georgia girl, Susan at A Southern Daydreamer to see some wonderful scenery for Outdoor Wednesday! I’ll see you next time! A la prochaine!

  31. What an absolutely FASCINATING series of photos DELIGHTFULLY imaginative 'story' ... Here in Southern California it's seldom wet enough for toadstools and mushrooms so I've never seen such an enchanting site! Love the dew drops too. Thanks for dropping by Sacred Ruminations this morning. From one 'happily retired teacher' to another ...

  37. What beautiful photos! We never get mushrooms in our yard here in CA - until this year. They keep popping up in the backyard and we've been in a total panic over it. Now that I have the story behind them I'll try to panic a little less.

  39. I've never hear of a fairy ring either. And the music is so mystical too! What fun. We get mushrooms but I'm always afraid my kids will try to eat them, so they're gone as soon as I see them.
I'm going to have to brush up on fairy lore. My daughter has such an imagination, she would probably love the stories. I've had to be careful lately, she's had an invisible playmate staying over, Nessie, from Loch Ness....I don't want to scare her...or get stepped on by her!

Great pictures! We get a lot of those around here but I definitely can't say that they are as pretty as yours turned out to be!

Great to have you stop by the other day and that you caught the exchange between me and Manuela - I thought that was hilarious too - who would have thought that I would happen across her pear and buy it - post about it and then find it on her blog! Too funny! It just goes to show that great minds really DO think alike LOL!
